Arundhati Baitmangalkar

Arundhati Baitmangalkar grew up in South India, where yoga wasn't a class you took, it was simply part of how life was lived. That grounding took formal shape over years spent studying in Mysore and Bangalore, including under senior disciples of B.K.S. Iyengar and other lineages. Before yoga, she was a professional Bollywood dancer and choreographer, and she came to yoga in her mid-twenties as a way to heal years of dance injuries — and never looked back.

She completed her 500-hour teacher training under Yogacharya Bharath Shetty in Mysore, with additional training in Bangalore, and has studied with senior Iyengar teachers including Geeta Iyengar. After moving to the Seattle area in late 2012, she founded Aham Yoga in Redmond, Washington, where she teaches classical hatha and vinyasa yoga with an emphasis on alignment, breathing, and systematic awareness. She has trained thousands of teachers and students, and her Let's Talk Yoga podcast, which explores modern yoga from an Indian teacher's perspective, is among the top podcasts in its field worldwide.

Arundhati is known for keeping yoga authentic, simple, and yoga-centric, and for championing representation for Indian yoga teachers in the West. She also runs BollyWorks, her Bollywood dance school.
