Insider’s Guide To Building Your BYF Schedule

With more than 200 sessions across four days, building your schedule for the Berkshire Yoga Festival is one of the most exciting parts of preparing for the weekend.

But if this is your first yoga festival—or even your first time at BYF—the schedule can also feel a little overwhelming at first glance. With so many incredible teachers, experiences, and events happening across the mountain, it’s easy to wonder how to fit it all in.

The good news? There’s no wrong way to do the festival.

Some guests arrive with a carefully planned itinerary. Others prefer to leave room for spontaneity. Most find that the perfect weekend falls somewhere in between.

To help you get started, here are a few insider tips for building a schedule that feels balanced, inspiring, and uniquely your own.

1. Start With Your “Must-Take” Sessions

When the schedule opens, begin by booking the sessions you know you don’t want to miss. This might be a favorite teacher, a special workshop, or an experience you’ve been looking forward to all year.

Some classes will fill, so it’s a good idea to claim your spot early—especially for presenters you’re excited to practice with.

The good news is that your schedule isn’t locked in. You can adjust it anytime through the Sched app if something else catches your interest later.

2. Leave Room to Discover Someone New

While it’s natural to gravitate toward teachers you already know, yoga festivals are also a beautiful opportunity to discover someone new.

This year’s faculty includes beloved returning presenters alongside incredible teachers from our Studio Partner community and rising voices in the yoga world. Some may not be household names yet—but they’re often local favorites or teachers who are making a big impact in their communities.

If a class you were hoping to attend ends up waitlisted, consider it an invitation to explore something unexpected. Many guests leave the festival saying their favorite session of the weekend was with a teacher they hadn’t planned to take.

3. Aim for 4–6 Sessions Per Day

Most guests attend about four to six sessions per day, depending on their pass and energy level.

Multi-day passes include a set number of Featured Sessions (typically averaging around four per day), along with unlimited Community events and access to the nightly concerts.

With so many offerings throughout the day, this pace usually allows plenty of time to practice, learn, explore the festival grounds, and still feel energized for the evening.

4. Balance Movement With Restoration

Yoga festivals have a unique energy. It’s tempting to fill your schedule with back-to-back asana classes—but by the second or third day, your body may start asking for a little more balance.

We recommend weaving in different types of experiences throughout the weekend, such as:

  • meditation or breathwork

  • talks and panel discussions

  • sound healing or restorative sessions

  • slower-paced classes that support recovery

  • woodfire sauna & cold plunge therapy

A well-balanced schedule will help you stay present and energized throughout the festival.

5. Leave Room for the Festival Magic

Some of the most memorable moments at BYF happen between sessions.

Take time to wander through the Vendor Village, connect with fellow yogis, grab a smoothie or fresh juice, or simply pause to enjoy the mountain air. The Jiminy Peak campus is smaller than it first appears, making it easy to explore without feeling rushed.

Sometimes the magic of the festival looks like an inspiring conversation, a new friend, a spontaneous moment of music, or discovering something you didn’t plan for. Leaving a little space in your schedule allows those moments to unfold.

6. Stay Flexible With the Sched App

You can explore the full schedule and manage your itinerary using Sched, our festival scheduling platform.

Once you see a checkmark next to a class, you’re officially on the list.

Plans change—and that’s part of the festival experience. If something new catches your eye, you can update your schedule anytime leading up to the session.
