When most people start planning their Berkshire Yoga Festival weekend, they focus on their featured classes — choosing favorite teachers, saving must-take sessions, and mapping out each day.
And before you know it… your schedule is full.
But here’s something many attendees don’t realize at first:
There are additional bonus sessions throughout the weekend that don’t count toward your daily session totals — giving you more space to explore, without having to give anything up.
These are called Community Events, and you’ll find them labeled as such directly on the schedule.
With 30+ Community Events across the weekend, they’re one of the easiest ways to add something extra to your day — whether that’s a unique experience, a deeper dive into a topic, or something you simply feel drawn to in the moment.
Below are just a few highlights to give you a sense of what you might discover.
Hiking in Silence: A Conscious Ascent
Friday & Saturday 7:30am with Himalayan Institute Excursions
Begin your day with a guided, breath-centered hike through the forested trails of Jiminy Peak. Moving in silence, you’ll connect to the rhythm of your breath and the natural surroundings — leaving you clear, grounded, and ready to step into the day ahead.
Resonate Together: SonicSounds, a Rainbow Sounds Experience
Saturday 6:45am & Sunday 2:00pm with Bianca Sengos of Rainbow Sounds
This is not a traditional sound bath.
In this interactive experience, each participant will use a sound bowl to become part of the practice — exploring breath, gentle movement, and collective vibration as the entire room resonates together.
Saraswati: Key of the Treasure Trove to Tantra
Saturday 4:00pm with Pandit Rajmani Tigunait PhD of Himalayan Institute
Explore the deeper layers of the tantric tradition through the lens of Saraswati — the embodiment of knowledge, intuition, and inner wisdom.
In this session, you’ll be introduced to mantra, philosophy, and practices that support clarity, creativity, and a more expansive understanding of yoga.
Align Your Words Like Your Posture
Friday 4:00pm with Sudhir Shah of Om Botanicals
Bring your yoga practice off the mat and into your relationships.
This hands-on workshop introduces Nonviolent Communication as a way to navigate conflict, deepen connection, and speak with clarity and compassion — turning everyday conversations into opportunities for understanding.
Community Events are included with your pass and don’t count toward your daily session selections — making them an easy way to expand your experience.
You can attend as many Community Events as you’d like on the day(s) your pass includes* — whether that’s adding something before your first class, between sessions, or later in the day.
It’s one of the simplest ways to explore something new, follow your curiosity, and make the most of your time at BYF.
When the weekend is over, it’s rarely just one class that stands out — it’s the combination of experiences, the people you meet, and the moments in between that make BYF what it is.
